We have a performance schedule.
I have tried to iron it out as fairly as possible, allowing for everyone's conflicts, etc.
Friday May 6 - Red Cast
Saturday May 7 - Red Cast
Sunday May 8 - Blue Cast
Friday May 13 - Blue Cast
Saturday May 14 - Blue Cast
Sunday May 15 - Red Cast w. Tessa as Lucky
There is also a preview (invited dress rehearsal, whatever you wanna call it) on Thursday, May 5th, which will be Blue Cast.
Olympia Dukakis has not yet told me which night she is coming on.
But she is coming.
I'm completely serious.
EVERYONE - Bring all costume items that you are responsible for. It's photo day.
Blue Cast - Memorize Act One.
Red Cast - Memorize up to Page 25.
Emma - This is a special butt-kicking note to remind you to learn your lines.
Iyla - I will bring monologue books...and you will bring your black sweatshirt.
Louis - I will bring you college books...and you will bring your costume.
Jessy - I will bring you knee pads....and you will bring shoes, pants to cut, & t-shirt.
Nicole - I will bring you a skirt & stockings...you bring boots & a shirt to cut.
Rudi - I think you're bringing your whole costume, yes?
Travis - Whole costume for you as well? (No worries about shoes.)
Tessa - I will bring you a shirt and skirt item...you will bring makeup and shoes.
This doesn't apply to Emma H. (who will be in red), but anyone who wants to is welcome to attend the Black & White Ball (April 1st, at the community center, after our Friday rehearsal!) in the Godot cast uniform. That uniform is as follows:
You are welcome to put any twist you like on the combo - wear fishnet under the white shirt, wear a white top hat, roll up your pants and wear knee socks, whatever. But those are the basics, which both Emma Leigh (your lovely AD) and I will be wearing.
I totally understand if there are girls out there dying to wear dresses...maybe put some suspenders over your dress?
Pozzos: I got the whip! Well, a riding crop actually.
Friday's rehearsal is cancelled, due to my being in Texas.
Sunday is also cancelled, due to it being Easter Sunday.
Monday, we are back on, for RED CAST ONLY. Blue Cast gets the week off.
The following Friday, everyone's back on. Okie dokie?
Love ya'll. Everyone should be off book up to page 25 ASAP.
First things first: everyone is doing VERY good work. I am continually impressed by each and every one of you. This play is no cakewalk (even when we eat a lot of cake at rehearsal), and yet everyone seems to be taking it pretty much in stride. Keep it up!
Second things second: we are in dire need of another day of rehearsal, as you all know. So starting Friday the 18th of March, Friday rehearsals are officially in session. We go from 4:30 to 6:30, completely undisturbed by Tommy overlaps. Rudi, I know you have a conflict so I will let you know on a weekly basis if you absolutely must attend the Friday rehearsal. Perhaps we can make Fridays heavy on the Blue Cast (formerly known as Cast A).
Third things third: if any of your mothers are making you get rid of that disgusting old sweater or ruined sneakers...tell them you can donate it to a worthy cause...the Godot Ratty Costume Collection! Jessy's almost entirely costumed himself; if anyone else cares to wear some of their own collapsing clothing, bring it to rehearsal!
Fourth things fourth: Iyla, Emma and Jessy are gone next week. I think I may give Blue Cast the week off and devote all the time to Red Cast. Sound good?
Now I've learned my lesson: people really do diligently check the livejournal. So! Just in case the messages haven't gotten to everyone yet, here's the info on our snowdate:
i.e. Wednesday, March 2nd
@ the Woodstock Day School
I'm very sorry if people showed up at the church yesterday. For future cancellations, I'll put a notice here as well - but there is always an announcement made on WDST (100.1) and a message on our answering machine.
Rehearsal on Sunday was excellent, I can't wait to keep going.
BOTH CASTS must, from this point forward, attend BOTH REHEARSALS.
Unless you have a conflict which you've told me about. If this week if a problem, I understand, I don't think this was clearly communicated to everyone.
Rehearsals are now Sundays from 4-6:30 and Mondays from 4:30-6:30.
Individual rehearsals will also be arranged here and there, when people can make it.
We have a production concept now...and I cannot wait to tell you all about it...so excited...
Til tomorrow, big hugs,
alright louis, this one goes out to you:
Hope deferred, maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life."–Prov. xiii. 12.
it's from the bible, i found it on a creepy christian adoption site, it didn't say which of the apostles or proverb-makers said it, so i guess valdimir's question as to who said it remains unanswered..... all of the interpretations i found were too wierd and christian to read through, and they were long, and it's late at night....
o yeah! and dudeen, from dictionary.com, the definition:
du·deen : A short-stemmed clay pipe.
